Inversions, Arm Balances & Transitions

Handstand is so many people’s favourite pose and with good reason. It’s exhilarating, challenging, an instant mood-booster and its possibilities are endless.
During this workshop we will work on it as well as other inversions like Forearm stand, Headstand, several arm balances and transitions between them. A strong foundation, proper alignment, breathing, visualisation and mental concentration are some of the ingredients we’ll cover in depth. Arm balances will help us find correct muscle engagement and focus to tackle inversions successfully.
Finally, we will combine it all, working on exercises to help us transition from inversion to arm balance and back. Though my classes are for all levels and I constantly give modifications, keep in mind a lot of time will be spent on our arms so, come ready to do so, have a great time, learn a ton and leave invigorated!
Time permitting; we will be finishing the class with a guided meditation with Moises to help us integrate all the asana work we have done during the session.

Saturday, Jun 22nd, 1:30pm-4:30pm
Hip Openers, Lotuses & Splits

The lower half of the body carries most of your body weight on daily basis. Our legs transport us, hips are a huge warehouse and in both we tend to store all sorts of tensions.
This class is designed to let go, as much as possible, of most of them, improve our mobility, flexibility and work on amazingly effective asanas like Splits, Lotus, Leg behind the head (Eka Pada Sirsasana) and Foot under the armpit (Yogidandasana). When hips and hamstrings open up, a new world of possibilities does too, not just flexibility wise but also in arm balances, inversions… the playground enlarges, energy runs more freely, aches disappear and you walk out energized and more connected.
This class is suitable for all levels, whether you’re attempting Lotus for the first time or you want to combine it with a Handstand or another hip opener. Special attention will be paid to proper warm up, hip rotation, knee/hamstring issues, as well as an in-depth look at some hip openers you’ve always wanted to approach. This is your chance so, come ready to explore!
Time permitting; we will be finishing the class with a guided meditation with Moises to help us integrate all the asana work we have done during the session.

Sunday, Jun 23rd, 1:30pm-4:30pm
Backbends & Inversions, Exploring All Forms Of Scorpions

Not your average yoga class, this backbend one will dare to trade into waters you might not do on your own, feel intimidated, lost or simply have never thought of. After a thorough warm up and having covered other backbends, proper spinal & shoulder mobility, and abdominal/hip flexors extension, quite some time will be dedicated to study Scorpions, how to do them safely, properly so we can incorporate them in our personal practice.
This class is for all levels and you don’t need an ‘advanced’ practice (whatever that means) to participate. You’ll need, however, an open mind, come ready to try and willing to see what happens. Stiffness, or being able to work around our personal difficulties, is a big part of the learning process. You don’t want to miss out on that! Come and explore…
Time permitting; we will be finishing the class with a guided meditation with Moises to help us integrate all the asana work we have done during the session.
